BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE PITCHING SESSION I

(3 YEARS OR LESS PITCHING EXPERIENCE)
BASIC PITCHING MECHANICS WILL BE TAUGHT ALONG WITH DRILLS THAT CAN HELP SOMEONE WHO IS STARTING OUT OR HAS PITCHED FOR JUST A FEW YEARS.
ADVANCED PITCHING SESSION I
3:30-6:00PM
THE LATEST TECHNIQUES AND DRILLS TO HELP THE EXPERIENCED PITCHER WITH THEIR MECHANICS, AS WELL AS TEACHING HOW TO THROW/IMPROVE THE CURVE, DROP, AND CHANGE UP WILL BE COVERED. USE OF THE "REVFIRE" RADAR SYSTEM OF MONITORING SPIN REVOLUTIONS WILL BE PART OF THIS CLINIC.
PITCHERS STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING
7:00-9:00PM
EACH PITCHER WILL BE SHOWN VARIOUS DRILLS, EXERCISES, AND EQUIPMENT THAT CAN HELP THEM TO IMPROVE THEIR CONDITIONING AND STENGTH AS A PITCHER. ALL EXERCISES WILL BE SHOWN IN A "LIMITED ACTIVITY" FORMAT.

LESSON PRICING AND FORMAT CHANGE ANNOUNCED EFFECTIVE JANUARY 2010
Coach Savage’s Lesson Philosophy:"I won't make you better - but I will help YOU make yourself better!"
It's not enough that I know what the player did wrong - or right for that matter. The player has to learn how to know that for themselves. The reason I believe this is so crucial to a softball player's improvement is that when the athlete finds herself in a game needing to either perform that skill successfully or else make an immediate correction - I'm not there to tell that player what to do! The better a softball player is at knowing what changes she needs to make and knowing how to make them, the more successful she'll be in competition. And, isn't that why players take lessons to begin with? To ultimately perform better in games!"
Jeff Savage provides personalized skill training to any level player who is committed to improving her softball skills. He provides lessons throughout the Delaware area but is able to conduct lessons anyplace in North America. If you live outside Delaware and are interested in having Jeff work with one or more of your softball players contact him to make arrangements.

Group Lessons (2-5 Students)
Groups Lessons are for groups of 2-5 softball players in hitting, pitching, fielding, catching, bunting, and/or slapping. This lesson format is most often utilized by teammates, friends, family members, or players who are at the same ability level and trying to improve their skills together. Group lessons last one hour, and Jeff will tailor them to your group's needs. In a small group session Jeff will be able to provide multiple repetitions of the specific skills that the group needs work on. This is essential to developing proper habits and improving the mechanics of each skill. We will not create groups for you. You are responsible for creating your own group and for making sure they all show up.

Team Lessons (teams of 6+ students)
In Team Lessons, your team will be taught drills that stress fundamentals of hitting, pitching, or fielding. Team lessons are a minimum of 60 minutes and Jeff will work with you to tailor the lessons to your teams needs. These sessions are designed to help coaches prepare their teams for the upcoming season. Coach Savage will also give coaches "how to" ideas on running team practices including warm-ups and drills.

PITCHER VS HITTER LEAGUE II
DATES: 1/31, 2/7, 2/19, 2/21
TIMES: 9AM-1PM
LOCATION: DSU SPORTS ANNEX 255 COLLEGE ROAD DOVER
GRADES 3-12 (3RD-5TH, 6TH-8TH, 9TH-12TH)
COST PER LEAGUE; $100.00 PER PLAYER OR $375.00 FOR A TEAM OF 4 (MUST HAVE AT LEAST 1 PITCHER ON YOUR TEAM)
DESCRIPTION: The only league in the area that provides live pitcher vs hitter opportunities in January and February. A great way to get ready for spring ball !!!!! Players will be placed on teams of 4 with 1 pitcher per team (or 4 players can sign up together as a team). Each team will play a 5 inning game vs another team. Each batter bats 1 time per inning for a total of 5 at bats per game. Each pitcher will pitch to 4 batters per inning and a total of 20 batters per games. Scores will be given to hitters based on the type of hit (grounder, pop up, etc) and location of each hit. Bonus points are awarded to pitchers for strike outs, and to hitters for walks. At the end of the 4 week season the first and second place teams will receive a prize. All campers will receive a league t-shirt.

DESCRIPTION: This camp is designed to teach players fundamental skills of softball. All skills except pitching will be taught at the camp with DSU softball players and staff assisting. THE COST OF THE CLINIC IS $75.00 FOR AN INDIVIDUAL, $125.00 FOR 2 COACHES FROM THE SAME STAFF, $250.00 UP TO 5 COACHES FROM THE SAME STAFF, ORGANIZATION, LEAGUE, OR SCHOOL DISTRICT AND INCLUDES BREAKFAST, AND A SET OF CLINIC NOTES. THIS INSTRUCTIONAL CLINIC IS OPEN TO ALL SOFTBALL COACHES FROM LITTLE LEAGUE TO TRAVEL BALL, TO HIGH SCHOOL TO COLLEGE COACHES. THE 2010 SUMMER ALL SKILLS, HITTING AND PITCHING CAMPS HAVE BEEN SET. THE ALL SKILLS CAMP WILL RUN FROM JUNE 14TH-18TH 9AM-3PM AT THE DSU SOFTBALL COMPLEX. COST WILL BE $165.00, BUT YOU CAN EARLY BIRD REGISTER FOR $125.00 IF YOU PAY IN FULL BY JULY 31ST, 2009. ALL SKILLS CAMP CONSISTS OF MORNING TEACHING STATIONS AND DRILLS WHILE THE AFTERNOON CONSISTS OF CONTESTS AND SCRIMMAGE GAMES DESIGNED TO HELP THE CAMPER IMPLIMENT THE SKILLS LEARNED INTO A GAME SITUATION. Hello Coach Savage-
It's Monday so I just figured I'd let you know how our tournament went this weekend. We went 5-2-1. Our two losses were to the #1 and #2 seeds of the tournament. We seeded 7 out of 38 teams which put us in the gold bracket on Sunday. It was a very good tournament. I actually pitched 6 of the 8 games because one of our other pitchers is having back problems. This weekend was probably the best I have pitched in I don't know how long :). I also hit very well. Yesterday in our games, I remember off the top of my head, I was 3 for 4 and 2 for 3 which earned me the MVP medal in both games :).

Hi coach savage,
I came to your two day batting camp last monday and tuesday. Well this weekend I had a tournament friday saturday and sunday. Friday night my first time up strike one went by and then the second pitch I hit a homerun! I went 2 for 2 with a walk. Then sarurday I struck out once each game. Which was two games. I hit very well this weekend. Sunday I hit a ball over the center feilders head a little more power the ball would of out of here. I want to thank you very much for having that hitting camp. Thank you again. And please thank coach Kendra for me.
